Meet Oral Surgeon Dr. Largent – Dual degreed, board certified!

Dr. Matthew Largent is a board-certified, dual-degree oral and maxillofacial surgeon serving patients throughout Austin, TX. With both a Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) and a Medical Doctorate (MD), Dr. Largent brings a rare depth of training that bridges dentistry, oral surgery and medicine—allowing him to deliver advanced, full-scope surgical care with precision, safety, and confidence. As a dual degreed oral surgeon. Dr. Largent can manage the complete clinical picture: complex impactions, patients on blood thinners, cardiac patients, anxious patients who need deep sedation, and everything in between.

Originally from the San Francisco Bay Area, Dr. Largent began his academic journey at Bellarmine College Preparatory. He went on to earn both his Bachelor of Science and Doctoral of Dental Surgery at the University of Washington in Seattle. In 2009 he completed his Medical Doctorate and rigorous oral and maxillofacial surgery residency at the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio, one of the nation’s leading training programs in the field.

Dr. Largent set up practice in Austin, TX where he has been an active participant in both the dental and medical communities. When he is not actively engaged in the treatment of patients at his office or in one of the many regional hospitals, Dr. Largent enjoys spending time with his family, road cycling, making and listening to live music, and surfing on Lake Austin.
